Swiss and Lufthansa a partnership
More destinations, more frequencies, more comfort. The cooperation of Lufthansa and SWISS offers the customers of both airlines a number of new benefits, an even greater choice of destinations, better connections, attractive frequent flyer programmes and an expanded lounge offer.
Optimal harmonized flight offers:
All Lufthansa and SWISS flights between Germany and Switzerland will be operated as so-called codeshare services from 30 October 2005 and the airlines' timetables synchronized. For passengers, this means a dense network of connections between the two countries, more destinations elsewhere in Europe and even better connections to the rest of the world from the hubs in Frankfurt, Munich and Zurich.
Together Lufthansa and SWISS now offer more than 560 flights a week between Germany and Switzerland. Lufthansa flies to 181 destinations in 76 countries, and SWISS to a total of 69 in 41 countries. Lufthansa's first-class connections to the world have been enhanced by attractive services to destinations such as Thessalonica, Luxembourg, Lugano and Alicante via Zurich. In addition, thanks to the cooperation with SWISS our passengers can now also fly to destinations in Africa: Yaoundé and Doualé (Cameroon), Nairobi (Kenya), Dar es Salaam (Tanzania), Benghazi (Libya) and Malabo (Equatorial Guinea).
A shorter walk and transit time:
From the Winter timetable, the check-in counters and departure gates in Frankfurt, Munich and Zurich will be located in the building of the respective national airline. For passengers this means shorter distances to check-in, shorter transit times and thus better connections. In addition, common check-in counters mean customers will benefit from an even faster and more comfortable check-in.
