Conveniently located in Prague’s picturesque Malá Strana district, The Augustine, the quintessence of Prague’s history, character and beauty is close to the majestic Prague Castle, the Wallenstein Garden, the famous Charles Bridge and within easy reach of the city’s many colorful tourist attractions, making it an ideal choice for business and leisure travelers. The design of the interiors was accomplished by the London-based design company RDD, together with Olga Polizzi, The Rocco Forte Collection’s Director of Design.

The 101-bedroom property including 16 suites has been created from seven buildings, many of which have historical significance, including the 13th century Augustinian St. Thomas’s Monastery, after which the hotel is named. Several practicing monks still live in a separate part of the monastery, adjacent to the hotel grounds. The guests may benefit from the direct access to the neighboring St. Thomas’s Church and exclusive rental of the adjacent Wallenstein Garden for the ultimate summer events and wedding receptions.

ACCOMMODATION

The hotel’s elegantly designed 101 bedrooms all boast stunning views over the courtyards, the monastery chapel or Prague Castle. The bedrooms, including 16 suites, all with stunning views of Prague Castle, the city, the monastery church or courtyards. All of the bedrooms are different, with the majority boasting interesting architectural and structural characteristics including vaulted ceilings and original doors. All of the rooms are generously proportioned (measuring in excess of 40 sq m), with the majority having 5-piece bathrooms that include a walk-in shower.

The suites include an impressive 150sqm Charles Suite and a Tower Suite, located in the monastery’s original tower. The Tower Suite comprises three floors, one for the entrance and living room, one for the bathroom and the top floor for the bedroom, with panoramic views across the rooftops of Prague. The impressive 150sqm Charles Suite features a separate kitchenette, dining room with fireplace, luxurious living room, study, dressing room, large bedroom with a four poster bed and a spacious bathroom.

The Thomas Suite has 4 poster bed and offers 117 sq m/1260 sq ft. of simple luxury. This suite is composed of a separate bedroom, dining room, living room and dressing room and is decorated with contemporary furnishings and fabrics with traditional features reflecting the tranquility of the Lesser Town. The studio rooms are particularly large bedrooms with a seating area and with a total size are on average of 54 sq m/ 581,3 sq ft., provide a view of the city to the Lesser Town or the monastery courtyard

In-room facilities include individually-controlled air-conditioning, spacious working desk with a telephone line, as well as high-speed internet connection. Guests will benefit from facilities such as 24-hour in room dining, a well-stocked in room bar and snack basket, flat-screen television with international TV channels, security safe, portable professional hairdryer, 100% linen sheets with anti-allergic pillows and blankets upon request, and plenty of storage space.

The marble bathroom with heated floor, music sound system, make-up mirror and a telephone line offers luxurious Rocco Forte Collection’s toiletries and fluffy bathrobes and slippers to complete your stay.

FOOD AND DINING

The Monastery restaurant, housed in a glass covered courtyard, offers a truly refreshing and personalized dining experience, from the friendly service to the flavorful variety of the European Brasserie menu. It features three listed trees and has a capacity of 90 indoor seats. Enjoy the private breeze and rejuvenating greenery on the restaurant's cloister terrace, and select your preferred wine or try something new from the uniquely diverse wine list, intentionally designed to capture your attention and engage your curiosity. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner every day.

The Brewery Bar, housed in the cellar of the former St. Thomas’s brewery features stalactites and stalagmites that date back to the seventeenth century as well as an authentic underground water source that has been glazed over and incorporated into the design. A delicately lit floating terracotta floor has been laid to protect and highlight these unique surroundings. The Brewery Bar will take you back to an age frozen in time, where the locals gathered to celebrate the highlights of their day and the beer flowed freely until the morning hours. Providing a pulsating ambience that was once the birthplace of the renown St. Thomas beer, the Brewery Bar has brought this very beer back to life, complemented with an interesting selection of Czech-style tapas and specialty microbrews from across the country.

Tom's Bar invites you for a touch of simple luxury, in a delightful barrel-vaulted double height hall featuring restored nineteenth century baroque frescoes with outside seating in the cloister terrace during summer. Tempt your senses with a selection from the signature cocktails or invigorating tea menu as the angels shine upon you from above. A carefully prepared program of live music complements an experience you will find truly enlightening!
