It was under these lemon trees, the branches of which formed a canopy so thick that even the most persistent of rains could barely make its way through, that Paolino opened his simple little restaurant. Today, Paolino's legendary lemon garden is still there. The restaurant has remained a family business, managed by Lino, Paolino's son, and his nieces Michela e Arianna. Only the very finest of local products are used to create the dishes, be it the freshest of fish or highly prized meats. The same attention has been given to the selection of wines and to da Arianna's famous buffet of desserts dominated by a magnificent display of wild berries, seasonal fruit and copious quantities of whipped cream.
In a Mediterranean atmosphere, sitting at blue wooden tables, you can have lunch and dinner almost every hour of the day. The restaurant "IL RICCIO", awarded with one star in the 2013 Michelin Guide, is a place of signs and symbols, of women with hair made of sponge and sea mermaids created by artist Paul Sandulli. The open kitchen is decorated with majolica tiles from Vietri. And the fish counter, like a Pompeian painting, that not even the Latin poet Ennio would have imagined, full of octopuses and cuttlefish, of bream and sea urchins, lobsters and seafood.
Tradition, courtesy, innovation - these are the ingredients that the Caccioppoli family mixed to create a years long meeting point for the repeat tourists of the island and a nice surprise for the new visitors. The restaurant offers its selceted guests a great choice of dishes to taste on the large terrace overlooking the Gulf of Naples, prepared and cooked following tasty and simple Mediterranean tradition, mixed with inventions of modern Italian cuisine.
